AIAD initiatives award grants, scholarships, and fellowships on a regular basis throughout the year. Applicants can determine their eligibility and view relevant initiatives and application guidelines.

The foundation funds several scholarships, each with a different area of focus. To determine which scholarship program might be right for you, please email bursaries@developingafrica.org. Please note that we do not grant to individuals THAT study outside of African scholarship programs.

In keeping with our charter, we do not provide funding to individuals.

The Education team works directly with schools, states, provinces and cities across the African continent in an effort to transform large, existing schools and to create new models. While we appreciate your interest in our initiatives, we do not accept grant requests or unsolicited proposals for our Education initiative.

GRANTS

The foundation awards the majority of its grants to U.S. 501 (c)(3) organizations and other tax-exempt organizations in Africa identified by our staff. We do not award grants to individuals.  In deciding how to invest our resources most responsibly, we look for projects that: Help reduce inequities in neglected areas; produce measurable results, catalyze increased momentum, scale, and sustainability of change; collaborate with government, philanthropic, private-sector, and not-for-profit partners; favor preventative approaches; leverage support from other sources; advance our current strategies, accelerating the work we are already supporting.
